The RETROLux 20 mm blinds are installed in the space between the panes of a double-skin, non-ventilated facade. The client wanted the blinds to go up and down, but did without slat tracking in order to always ensure very good visibility between the slats to the outside.

Maxon motors, which are insensitive to temperature, were used. These are controlled by a Beckhoff controller, which allows retrofitting at any time in order to approach an exact slat tilting angle when the sun is flatter.

A total of 2,500 blinds were installed in the faÁade. The renovation of the faÁade with the installation of the blinds took a total of 6 months at the "open heart" during office working hours.

Retrofit of the solar shading systems by installing RETROLux blinds, slat width 20mm, slat spacing 17mm, retrofit volume 10,000 square metres.

The retrofit was necessary to achieve a better view of the facades and to improve the illumina- tion of the rooms with natural daylight via the atriums. The choice of RETROLux 20mm daylight louvres with 96% total louvre reflection was made with the aim of reducing the air conditioning loads without upgrading the existing air conditioning system.
